Tinker was born in the heart of Donaldsonville, Louisiana — a place where community, creativity, and culture run deep. We are more than a gift shop. Tinker is a place to shop, make, gather, learn and turn useful ideas into something real.
How Tinker Works
Tinker combines commerce with community impact. Our shop, custom work, classes, parties, rentals and consulting services are operated by The Tinker Foundation LLC, a mission-driven, for-profit Louisiana company.
Tinker Impact Fund is our affiliated, federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It advances charitable programs that expand access to creativity, education, wellness, practical support and economic opportunity.
Together, the organizations share a purpose while remaining legally distinct.

Our Story
Tinker was built on a simple belief: the best gifts are not always things. They can be experiences, connections, useful knowledge and moments that help people recognize their own value.
From carefully curated books and games to handcrafted goods, local art and hands-on programs, everything we offer is chosen or created with intention. We believe food brings families together, play sparks imagination and stronger systems can make opportunity easier to reach.
