How Jessie Tinkers
Some people tinker with paint. Some tinker with clay, wood, wellness, food or machines. I tinker with data, systems and possibilities—then turn what I find into practical direction that helps people.
I’m Jessie, the person behind much of the strategy, problem-solving and experimentation at Tinker.
How I tinker
My real love—and probably my lifelong special interest—is digging into information until the useful pattern appears. I like understanding how the pieces connect: what people need, where a process is getting stuck, what the numbers are trying to say, and which next step will create the most value.
That can look like reorganizing a product catalog, simplifying a customer journey, connecting systems, researching an unfamiliar platform, building a better offer, documenting a process, or finding the clearest path through a messy problem.
The data is never the point by itself. The point is helping people.
Tinker is bigger than making things
At Tinker, we celebrate artists, healers, crafters, makers and teachers. But making is not limited to something you can hold in your hands. Strategists, analysts, organizers, researchers and problem-solvers make things too: clarity, direction, systems, opportunities and momentum.
That matters to me because people do not all create value in the same way. Your gift may be visible on a shelf. It may also live in the way you listen, connect ideas, solve a problem or help someone else move forward.
From friction to forward motion
I could do most of this work manually. That is the point. The barrier was rarely ability; it was the time required to search for directions, learn unfamiliar terminology, move information between systems, test approaches, troubleshoot problems and document the result.
Used thoughtfully, AI helps reduce that procedural friction. I still bring the relationship, context, intention, taste, judgment, corrections, decisions and responsibility. The technology helps me put those abilities into motion faster and turn the work into something reusable.
A more sustainable way to work
I love making physical things too. But I do not want creativity—or anyone’s life—to be consumed by the grind of producing more just to keep moving. Consulting gives me the freedom to make selectively while spending more time on the kind of value-added work I am best equipped to do.
To me, that is what it means to tinker: use what you know, stay curious, make something useful, and build a living that leaves room to actually live.
What are your gifts? You have value, no matter who you are. That value matters.
Let’s put what you know into motion
If you are a small business owner, artist, maker or community organization with strong ideas and too many disconnected pieces, I can help you find the most practical path forward.
